She is simply a teenage girl making things. Thinking. Designing. Learning. Creating. Trying ideas. And then, one day, somebody else sees value in what she has been creating. That's part of the fun of the story. But underneath the $12 million offer is a much smaller question that I love: **What did Summer Rain have before somebody else put a dollar value on it?** Her imagination.... and Her Dreams.... and Her knowledge. *Her ability to learn something she didn't know yesterday.* Her ability to take an idea that existed only inside her head and turn it into something that existed in the world. And I love thinking about *that* as an asset. Not because every idea needs to become a business. Not because everything we learn needs to make us money. And certainly not because our worth can be measured by what somebody is willing to pay us. Just because there is something rather lovely about recognising that some of the assets we carry through life aren't sitting in a bank account at all.
